Winter weather is coming...

I cant remember the last time we had a white winter with temperatures going below 25, much less with windchill factors making it below "zero". My memory is probably on the fritz, but needless to say this cold weather is coming and I am unsure how to handle it.
They are saying no prolonged periods out doors, frostbite is a definite. BRRRRRRRRRR
I sure wish I had gotten the container of "Ice Melt" my cousin had picked up for me... I do feel better knowing that if they need some they'll have it to use!
I hope everyone who will be affected by this weather stays safe and healthy!
God Bless

#6

I have a prayer request. Please, for my baby sister, who is due with #6. The Dr's are inducing her tomorrow. She is going through her fear faze and I ask for prayers to help her through this time and for a safe and healthy delivery.
Also for her and her husband to agree on a name. I'm hoping he'll bend and agree on "Olivia" :-D
I'll post pictures as soon as I get them.

Oh Yea... A prayer for me? I will be in charge of 7 children ( ages 10, 8, 7, 5, 3, 2 1/2 & 1 1/2) two are mine. My hopes are that the Holy Spirit blesses me with an abundance of patience.

Feast of The Baptism of the Lord

Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Baptism of Our Lord. This brings to an end the season of Christmas. The Church recalls Our Lord's second manifestation or epiphany which occurred on the occasion of His baptism in the Jordan. Jesus descended into the River to sanctify its waters and to give them the power to beget sons of God. The event takes on the importance of a second creation in which the entire Trinity intervenes.

If we only realize how brief is our time on this
earth, then most of the irritants and frustrations
which drive us apart would seem terribly
insignificant and petty.

Forgive each other because the Lord forgave you.
Do all these things; but most important
love each other.

A Favorite Prayer of mine

Mother, take over at this moment when I see nothing, when there does not seem to be any light in the tunnel, this moment of doubt, fear, this hour of making the right decision when everything seems to be going against me. I give you permission to resolve for me what I can not. Take over and take care of the difficulties that I must face and those things I cannot see. You have the power to do this
Mary, take over when I speak with my children and when I talk to my spouse.
Take over when I go to work, when I drive my car.
Take over when I must receive news, when the doctor will diagnose or perform surgery.
Defend me, protect me, take care of me.
Take over, Mother, touch and warm with your maternal love the hardened hearts that I will find along the way, because you are the Star that announces the Sun and without you, nobody can but feel its warmth.
Thank you Loving Mother, without whom there would be no victory. Mary, invincible courage of Christ's athletes, pillar of fire that guides them through the night, Dawn of Good News, take over today and always. Amen!
